DI-3 provides a complete set of programming tools to define graphicsprimitives, attributes, and viewing parameters. Primitives can begrouped into data structures, called segments, and stored in memory forrapid display and manipulation. Output consists of 2-D and 3-D lines,markers, text, and fill areas. DI-3 supports exact sizing, whichallows maps and drawings to be drawn to correct scale. The user is givencomplete control of all graphical elements.DI-3's modular design is ideal for networked and distributedprocessing environments. For example, a DI-3 application developed ona technical workstation can be sent to a supercomputer. Images can bearchived, shared over networks, routed to hardcopy equipment, or sent toremote sites. DI-3 supports more than 100 different graphics devices,12 of which can be active simultaneously.
